What is the
MAKER culture?
The MAKER culture or movement or “maker culture” is a
extension of the “do-it-yourself” (DIY) culture and promotes
the idea that all people are capable of creating objects,
physical or virtual, using multiple technologies.
This culture emphasizes learning through doing,
motivated by fun and self-realization , the exchange
of knowledge between people , as well as the use
and combination of diverse manufacturing technologies:
Traditional tools - manual and electric, for example -,
to digital design and manufacturing - specialized software,
laser cutters, 3D printers, among others.
